You know we love a good holiday movie over here at Hope+Wellth and just when we thought the holidays couldn’t get any warmer, Tyler Perry is back with another feel-good film that is sure to have us smiling, swooning and maybe even shedding a few happy tears. His upcoming movie, Finding Joy, is set to premiere on November 5th on Amazon Prime and it has all the makings of a new seasonal classic; love, laughter and a little bit of fate.
The story centers around Joy, a New York fashion designer whose world takes a sharp turn after a major career setback. Hoping to reignite her spark and chase a little romance, Joy follows her crush all the way to Colorado. But when she becomes stranded in a very small mountain town, life throws her an unexpected curveball in the form of a new man and a fresh perspective on love and purpose.
The lead role is played by Shannon Thornton, best known for her powerful performance on P-Valley. Thornton brings warmth, with and vulnerability to Joy while rediscovering herself in the midst of uncertainty. Her chemistry with the rest of the cast, paired with Perry’s signature storytelling, promises a film that is as emotionally rich as it is entertaining.
